Feb 1st-6th = Seven Springs Mountain Resort
We had been looking forward to this trip for months. However, we got some very upsetting news earlier that week that Jeremy's grandmother had unexpectedly passed away. The funeral was going to be on Friday and we were scheduled to leave on Wednesday. Jeremy insisted that the kids and I still go. This was not an easy decision and I pray that his family doesn't think less of me because of it. I only went because it's what he wanted us to do, but it still didn't feel right. We got Jeremy a flight to Pittsburgh Friday night, which was about an hour away fom where we would be staying.
The kids and I left at 3am on Wednesday morning to meet everyone else. It took us about 8 hours to get there. And the car ride, which I feared would be the worse with the little ones, was not bad at all. I was prepared with the dvd player, games, and even the travel potty (which came in handy more than once). All the way there Addison kept asking where the snow was. However, the only snow in sight was on the slopes. By evening we were all settled into the condo. Addison and I had a private ski lesson on Thursday. For a 3 year old, she did very well. I thought I was doing well until I got on the ski lift (long story).
On Friday we took Addison to the lodge to check out the arcade. She had a blast!
Later that night we left for our trip to Pittsburgh to pick daddy up.
On Saturday we woke up to this...
And later that afternoon, it looked like this...
Of course we were thrilled, especially Addison.
Later that afternoon we went on a sleigh ride. It was breathtaking! An absolute winter wonderland. Here is Addison with "Mark".
And here is what Gunner thought about the sleigh ride...
Unfortunately we had to leave on Sunday. But all in all, it was a great time. There was alot that we didn't get to do but guess there's always next year.
And one more pic, I couldn't reist. Look at my little snow man.
