Happy Easter!

Addison started out with her first Easter egg hunt on Thursday, the 21st with all her friends at preschool. We made egg-shaped rice krispie treats, dipped in chocolate and decorated with sprinkles the night before as her special treat for the preschool party. We had so much fun making these and I got tons of compliments from the other preschool moms. Friday, we went down to Burrus Red & White in Hatteras for their Spring Celebration. Addison had fun painting, blowing bubbles, and playing games. On Saturday, we went to the HUMC (Hatteras United Methodist Church) for a magic show, an easter egg hunt, and then ice cream. We also stopped by Kai's Kitchen for a picture with the Easter Bunny. Sunday morning when Addison woke up and discovered that the Easter
Bunny had been to visit her. He left lots of cool stuff! Here's a picture of Addison all ready for church. Of course she was saying "CHEESE". After church we went out to lunch with a friend at Island Perks. That afternoon Addison played in her pool that the Easter Bunny brought her while mommy enjoyed the sunshine. Not long
after I got the ham on and we got settled in
I received a phone call from Hatteras Harbor Marina saying that Jeremy was on his way in with a fish hook in his hand. They had already notified the on call doctor at HealthEast Family Care in Avon. Addison was not a happy camper that we had get dressed and leave. We rushed down to the Marina and waited for them to get in. The hook was not in his hand, rather his calf. I'm a nurse, and it made me a little light-headed when I first saw it. They helped him off the boat and into the car. We met the on-call doctor in Avon. She took one look at it, gave him a Lidocaine injection, and sent us up to Nags Head to the ER. That ended up being a 3 hour ordeal. They ended up having to just push the hook all the way through. Glad it was him and not me. He was a trooper though. They of course put him on antibiotics and gave him some good pain killers. So much for our Easter dinner. Instead, we had leftovers. What a day!
